Michele D'Anca

is an italian actor and dubber, he was born in Bologna, his family is from Sicily, but he lives in Rome since 1966.

He started his artistic career studying classical and modern dance, then turned his steps towards theatre.
' His debut took place in 1981, during an italian tv-musical Grandi Firme anni '30 (Great brands in 1930s) with two very famous actors, Massimo D'Apporto and Marisa Merlini: this experience shew him like a full relief artist in singing, acting and dancing. The director, Mauro Severino, drove him to improve himself, so he attended the most important italian Theatre School, the National Academy of Dramatic Art "Silvio D'Amico". He was only twenty years old when he recited in The dream by August Strindberg, directed by Luca Ronconi (the critics define the performance one of the most beautiful moments of the season, to higest level of acting). The encuonter with Ronconi - who we can define Maestro in the best accepted meaning of the word - drove the young actor to persue the way of rigor and artistic excellence.

Michele D'Anca took the diploma in 1995 - moved in the deep of himself by the three years at "Silvio D'Amico" Academy - the grew up with his personal and professional reserch, ruled by a fervent pratical and theorist work of study and experimentation. He partecipates to numerous national and international stages and workshops, inquiring the origin and the dynamics of actor's creative process, in particolar examining thoughly the historical, anthropological, methodological and psycological aspects... The experience with John Strasberg (Lee Strasberg's son, founder of the Actors' Studio of New York), and with the teachers of Russian Academy of Theatre (GITIS), have been very decisive in tecnical and pedagogical terms.

He had his firt TV apparitions, (the just mentioned Grandi firme anni '30 (Great brands in 1930s), and the american TV movie The fifth missile), then he has been devoting himself to the stage for some years: his real debut is rapresented by Tutto per bene (All well done), by Luigi Pirandello one of the most important italian writer, during this period he has been engaged in important tournee and he was on the most important italian theatres' stages, like The Fairy Queen, remake of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and King Lear, with the Company of Theatre of Rome, both directed by Luca Ronconi, and the historical ediction of Cirano de Bergerac, directed by Maurizio Scarparo.

In 1999 he made his firt performance in cinema, in the movie Li chiamarono... Briganti (Brigands) by Pasquale Squitieri, with Caludia Cardinale and Enrico Lo Verso. He has a fervent activity in teh most popular italian tv-movies and fictions, and works like dubber too.

In 2001 he came back to the theatre in Uncle Vanja by Cechov, directed by Riccardo Cavallo, where ha played the rule of doctor Astrov. He worked in a few popular italian fictions; all the episodes of these fictions obtained the record of viewing figures, and won also the prime time. In 2009 he played the fiction Hunting the King - Narcotic section, directed by one of the most important italian director of action serials, Michele Soavi; his character, is a menber of a pitiless and dangerous drug traffickers band.

From the 19th of May 2009, he enters on the cast of a vert famous and popular italian soap opera CentoVetrine (The Mall), where he still playes the lead rule of Sebastian Castelli a very enigmatic and controversial character.
