DIRECTOR, ACTOR and SCREENWRITER

Graduating in acting in 1985 from the National Academy of Dramatic Art “Silvio D’Amico”, he developed a solid foundation rooted in the Italian theatrical tradition, further enriched over time through international workshops and masterclasses, including seminars with John Strasberg, the study of Chekhov with faculty from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts, and participation in the PPP Theatre Laboratory directed by Cristina Pezzoli.

After graduating, he pursued a long theatre career, performing continuously on the stages of Italy’s major theatres until 2001. From 1998 onward, he combined theatre work with a steady presence on television, appearing in numerous TV dramas, TV films, and series.

In cinema, he worked, among others, with Pasquale Squitieri on the film Li chiamarono briganti! (They Called Them Brigands, 1999).

After solid experience across theatre and television, he gradually moved toward independent cinema, beginning a new artistic path as a writer-director.

In 2023/24 he attended the “Leo Benvenuti” screenwriting course of the National Association of Film Authors, as part of NUOVOIMAIE, further deepening his study of screenwriting.

In 2023, he received an Honorable Mention for the screenplay of the short film Mala Erba, awarded under its original title Secchione! at the International Prize for Contemporary Italian Literature.

With Distress Call, he won the first session of the NUOVOIMAIE 2023 short film grant. With L’Ultimo Reporter, he was awarded in the second session of the same grant and received the Best Short Film Screenplay Award at the RIFF – Rome Independent Film Festival.

In 2024 he made his directorial debut with Distress Call, for which he also wrote the story and screenplay. Currently in distribution, the film has been selected by more than forty national and international festivals, receiving twenty-four awards and establishing itself as one of the most awarded Italian short films of 2024. 

In 2025, he directed his second short film, L’Ultimo Reporter, once again writing the story and screenplay, coming soon. Set to roll out on the festival circuit.

In December 2025 Rai Cinema Channel released Distress Call as the winner of the “Giubileo del Mediterraneo” Contest of the Premio Penisola Sorrentina. The film is available to stream on Rai Cinema Channel until April 30, 2026.

REGISTA, ATTORE e SCENEGGIATORE

Diplomato in recitazione nel 1985 presso l’Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica “Silvio D’Amico”, ha sviluppato una formazione radicata nella tradizione teatrale italiana, arricchita nel tempo da workshop e masterclass internazionali, tra cui i seminari con John Strasberg, lo studio di Čechov con docenti dell’Accademia Russa d’Arte Teatrale e la partecipazione al Laboratorio Teatrale PPP diretto da Cristina Pezzoli.

Dopo il diploma ha intrapreso una lunga carriera teatrale, calcando i palcoscenici dei principali teatri italiani fino al 2001. Dal 1998 ha affiancato all’attività teatrale una costante presenza sul piccolo schermo, partecipando a numerose fiction, film TV e serie televisive.

Per il cinema ha lavorato, tra gli altri, con Pasquale Squitieri nel film Li chiamarono briganti! (1999).

Dopo una solida esperienza tra teatro e televisione, si è progressivamente avvicinato al cinema indipendente, dando inizio a un nuovo percorso artistico come regista-autore.

Nel 2023/24 partecipa al corso di sceneggiatura “Leo Benvenuti” dell’Associazione Nazionale Autori Cinematografici, nell’ambito di NUOVOIMAIE, approfondendo lo studio della scrittura cinematografica.

Nel 2023 riceve una Menzione d’Onore per la sceneggiatura del cortometraggio Mala Erba, premiata con il titolo originario Secchione! al Premio Internazionale Letteratura Italiana Contemporanea.

Con Distress Call vince la prima sessione del bando NUOVOIMAIE 2023 per cortometraggi. Con L’Ultimo Reporter si aggiudica la seconda sessione dello stesso bando e ottiene il Premio per la Miglior Sceneggiatura di Cortometraggio al RIFF – Rome Independent Film Festival.

Nel 2024 debutta alla regia con Distress Call, di cui è anche autore di soggetto e sceneggiatura. Attualmente in distribuzione, il film è stato selezionato in oltre quaranta festival nazionali e internazionali, ricevendo ventiquattro premi e imponendosi come uno dei cortometraggi italiani più premiati della produzione 2024. 

Nel 2025 dirige il suo secondo cortometraggio, L’Ultimo Reporter, firmandone nuovamente soggetto e sceneggiatura. Di prossima uscita nel circuito festival.

A dicembre 2025 Rai Cinema Channel pubblica Distress Call in quanto vincitore del Contest Giubileo del Mediterraneo del Premio Penisola Sorrentina. Il film è disponibile in streaming su Rai Cinema Channel  fino al 30 aprile 2026.
